For our first project in 241 we were given the task of exploring materiality in a 3D medium, to gain a better understanding of the animation software Maya, and how it can be changed and manipulated over time into different forms. We were asked to use work from one the three artists Patricia Piccini, Jason Deamer or Damian Hurst. Having looked at each of their work I found each interesting and unique, however for this project I decided on the artistic styling’s of Jason Deamer, a character designer for Pixar, since his I found his work both highly contemporary and a great conceptual place to start, but most importantly to me was that I found his work the most inspirational of the three.
