Model Concept

I started thinking about Lebbeus’ design and how he created a relatively harsh or unwelcoming environment for people to live in so I thought I would expand upon that idea for my design. Lebbeus’ design was of an environment that is inhospitable, I believe he did this because this breads new opportunities and promotes diversity. I also like the idea that what people think they want isn’t always the best thing for them, and without being pushed they may never know. From this idea I came up with a story about a bath toy that doesn’t realize it’s a toy, and so it is afraid of the water. To give the story a little believability, I choose something that isn’t normally associated with water, so the viewer is surprised along with the toy. I thought a chicken would be a really interesting protagonist since it is not associated with water, but it didn’t go too far in the other direction so as to make the conclusion unbelievable. Also, I enjoy the added irony of a chicken that due to its fear of water, is a chicken.
