Sensory-Ethnography - Chrissy

Chrissy - 20 Female

What are two things you like most about biking?
I choose to bike because biking has zero carbon emissions, its good to be able to cut down the time it takes me to go somewhere. I also like that its kind of like a car in that you can use roads but you can also use pedestrian ways which makes maneuvering a city excellent.

What are two things you like the least about biking?
I dont like that it can be quite easy to fall off, especially in wet weather if the surface is not particularly textured. I also don't like how the bike gets squeaky if you change gears and theres not a lot of grease in the chain.

Where/why do you bike? (e.g. to uni, to work, along waterfront, everywhere)
I bike most places since it is a cheap and fast mode of transport.

What’s an interesting personal experience you have had on a bike?
The most interesting personal experience was when I did a biking camp, it was a beautiful day and we could go as fast as we wanted. I felt really outdoorsy and at peace.

What sense is the most important sense when riding and why?
Most important sense is sight, you have to be aware of everything around you because people quite often do not care about the well being of cyclists, both cars and pedestrians believe they have right of way and often if you arent paying attention you get hurt.
