Written Script


Shot 1
Small rubber chicken wakes/looks up, it is alerted by something.

Shot 2
Water Gushes down.

Shot 3
Chicken looks at water gushing down and splashing on the ground, this is what alerted it.

Shot 4
Flash of chicken drowning- this is what the chicken thinks will happen to it.

Shot 5
The shot zooms out from a close to a wide shot showing first detail then context.
The chicken, having no arms or legs since it is a toy, uses its beak to push it around so it’s facing away from the water.

Shot 6
Mid shot, side on, the camera pans along following. Chicken scrunches up to jump, using the physics of compression to move itself. Chicken releases with a squeak jumping through the air, as the chicken jumps along the flowing water slowing follows, the chicken manage to “outrun” the water as it jumps off screen, water follows.

Shot 7
Med shot, side on. The chicken halts suddenly as it reaches other end of the bathtub.

Shot 8
Close shot, behind chicken. It looks up with the camera at the steep slope up ahead.

Shot 9
Close shot, side on. Chicken looks backwards.

Shot 10
Wide shot, from chicken’s perspective. Water gushes even more looking ominous.

Shot 11
Mid shot, side on. Chicken compresses as far as it can with determination for a big jump. Just as the water comes on screen the chicken jumps with a loud squeak. It tries to flap its wings as the water covers the area the chicken was just in, although the wings are just painted indentations so it’s just pulling and distorting its body. Chicken looks scared as it looses momentum and starts to fall.

Shot 12
Lowe, mid shot. Camera is under chicken and can see the air valves beneath it for a moment, chicken falls on to camera with a squeak, screen turns black.

Shot 13
Wide shot, side on. The chicken happily swims across the water, creating wake, having realized it can float.
